Fred Eugene King

Fred Eugene King, 87, a resident of Henderson, died Thursday, June 11, 2020, in a local nursing home. Born on July 11, 1932 in Warren County, he was the son of the late Vance Eugene King and Mabel Whittemore King. Fred attended John Graham High School and served in the United States Army for three years during the Korean War. He was a member of Living Stones Church of God in Oxford and a retired electrician at the Sharon Harris Nuclear Power Plant. A memorial service will be held at a later date. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Evans King of Henderson; three children, Teresa K. Baldwin and husband, Eddie and Fred E. King, Jr. and wife, Olga, and Linda K. Clayton all of Henderson; three sisters, Sally Anderson and husband, Donald and Gloria Korb all of Madison, and Selma Cherry of Greenville; two grandchildren, Melanie Baldwin-Jones and husband, Steven of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Daniel Clayton of Raleigh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Vaughan and one brother, Thelbert King. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Dementia Alliance of North Carolina, in memory of Fred E. King, 9131 Anson Way Suite 206, Raleigh NC 27615
