HENDERSON-Brenda Pugh Wright, 69, a resident of 669 Walter Bowen Road passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Maria Parham Health. Born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Henry Pugh and Mary Campbell Bowen. She was a former Manager of the Henderson Waffle House. She was a member of New Sandy Creek Baptist Church and the Danny Wright Sunday School Class. She was an active member of the Vance County Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary, the Henderson Ladies of the Moose, and was a past member of the Cokesbury Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 am at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Tim Burgess. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She is survived her husband, Randy Wright of the home; three sons, Charles "Chuck" Strother (Glenda), and Chris Wright of Henderson, and Chad Wright (Heather) of Garner; three granddaughters, Brittany Strother, Lily Wright, and Lacy Wright; three grandsons, Jonathan Strother (Tara), Joshua Strother, and Blake Wright; two great granddaughters, Madyson Strother and Callie Strother; two brothers, Curtis Pugh and Kenny Bowen; two sisters Joanne Williams (Bud) and Renee Bowen Carroll. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Tracy Renee Strother, and her step-father, Joseph K. Bowen, Sr. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 until 8 pm at J. M. White Funeral home. At other times they will be at the home. Serving as active pall bearers will be Larry Brame, Buck Hobgood, Brian Greenway, Mike Coghill, Melvin Campbell, Jr. Donnie Squires, Scott Gales, and Bryan Bowen. Serving as honorary pall bearers will be members of the Vance County Rescue, the Vance County Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary, and members of the Cokesbury Volunteer Fire Department.
